1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device to remember information about your visit. They help the site work properly and, in some cases, allow its use to be analysed.

2. Cookies we use

This site uses the technical cookies necessary for it to function, which are exempt from the consent requirement, plus analytics cookies from two external providers (PostHog and Google Analytics) that let us measure how the site is used. These are not necessary for browsing, are only set if you accept them, and are described in section 3.

Technical / necessary: these enable browsing and the use of the site's basic features.
Analytics / measurement: these let us see in aggregate which pages are visited and how the site is navigated, so we can improve it. They are set by PostHog and Google Analytics and are described in the next section.

3. Usage analytics (PostHog)

To understand how the site is used we rely on PostHog, an analytics provider acting as a data processor. This site’s data is hosted in their European Union region, so no international transfers take place.

We record page views, clicks on links and buttons, browser and device information, the approximate location inferred from the IP address, and page performance metrics. This site contains no forms or text fields, so nothing you type is captured, and browsing sessions are not recorded. Nor are profiles built: the tool is configured to create them only for identified users, and this site has no sign-up or members’ area.

This measurement only switches on if you accept it in the cookie notice shown on your first visit. If you reject it or make no choice, PostHog is not loaded and nothing is stored on your device apart from your choice itself. When you accept, it uses one cookie belonging to the provider and two browser local-storage entries. You can change your choice or withdraw consent at any time through cookie settings; if you withdraw it, what was stored is deleted. We also honour your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.

Google Analytics. With the same consent we also use Google Analytics 4, from Google Ireland Limited, for aggregate visit statistics. It sets the _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies, which tell visitors and sessions apart and last up to 2 years. Google may process this data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Google Analytics runs in “consent mode”: until you accept, it loads without setting cookies or storing anything on your device and only sends Google anonymous signals about the visit (page, browser, time), with no identifiers. If you reject or withdraw consent, it returns to that mode and its cookies are deleted. More in Google's privacy policy.

4. How to manage cookies

You can allow, block or delete the cookies stored on your device through your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Bear in mind that disabling technical cookies may affect how the site works.
